Austin Whitehead has been welding professionally for over 15 years, working his way through fabrication shops, construction sites, and farm fields across central Missouri before founding Specialty Welding Services.
He started Select Welding Group because he kept running into the same problem: customers couldn't find a reliable welder, and good welders couldn't find enough steady work. The network was his answer to both.
Austin still runs his own shop — Specialty Welding Services — out of central Missouri, taking on custom fabrication, structural work, and repair jobs alongside managing the network. When you submit a project, there's a real chance he's the one reviewing it.
He's not a middleman. He's a working welder who built a better way to connect customers with the right professional for the job.
What Austin Does

Austin's own shop handles a wide range of welding and fabrication work. Here's what he takes on directly — and what he routes to the right network member when it's outside his wheelhouse.
Custom Fabrication
Gates, fencing, frames, trailers, and one-off steel builds. If you can sketch it, Austin can build it.
Structural Steel
Building frames, mezzanines, equipment bases, and heavy plate work for commercial and industrial projects.
Agricultural Repair
Farm equipment, implements, grain handling gear, and livestock infrastructure — Austin grew up around it.
Welding Repairs
Broken frames, cracked welds, failed brackets. Fast turnaround on repair work that needs to hold.
Mobile & On-Site
Austin runs a fully equipped mobile rig and serves farms, ranches, and job sites across central Missouri.

TIG welding for clean, precise work on aluminum and stainless — food service, architectural, and industrial.
